First, Ladies Singles.
once more, old rivalries resume between the China No.1 and the China No.2 (i.e. world no. 1 and 2). XieXinfang (MrsLin) vs. ZhangNing. lets see if the couple that makes two of china's best players can sweep this year's championships.. haha.. But MrsLin has to play much better than she did today... struggled against the world junior champion, hicupping greatly in the first set... oh well, i noe who i'm supporting.. can u tell? hahaha...
Next. Ladies Doubles.
oh wait, this has already been played, so the winner is known. oh well.. haha... i think its china. again. hehe.. don reli watch ladies doubles honestly, nor do i try to pick the winner.. hehe.. always some dynamic duo from the PRC... oh well.. hehe..
Next. Mixed Doubles...
the first of indonesia-china battles.. natsir v. some chinese pair i've nvr seen before.. shld be interesting if mixed doubles actually goes to indonesia... boleh!
now the reli interesting battles...
Mens singles is a repeat of the singapore open semi-final n jarum open semi-final, n its a dream final between the two pple many pple wld consider to be the best in the world.. LinDan vs. Taufik Hidayat (i.e. the next indon-china battle). Part Two. or rather three if u want to be fussy lah... reli enticing prospect. the Dragon (LinDan) will be hoping to leap well clear of the chasing pack in the world rankings with this victory at the World C'ships.. all the way dragon-up... haha... (see, i'm not biased against china in anyway, in case u got that impression)
ahh the climax - the men's doubles...
its like smthg straight out of WWE... except in this case, it wasnt fixed to happen..
this whole event is being held in USA, n USA hasnt seen a great badminton player in a very long time, perhaps even since the great dave freeman... and, at this year's championships, held at Anaheim, L.A., they've got a mens doubles team into the finals.. fairytale? haha.. u decide..
here's where the twist lies.. one of the 'americans' was once an indonesian doubles pair, partnering candra wijaya... n now, lo-n-behold, their opponents on finals day is, who else, but candra wijaya and sigit budiarto... haha... old partners. clash again..
CandraWijaya/SigitBudiarto vs. TonyGunawan/HowardBach
mouth-watering. two great matches.. tmr morning singapore time...
~.~
now i'm getting a scolding for forfeiting my studies.. dammit.. haha.. okay i better embrace this admonishing as a guidance to the path of my dream. haha.. thankyou bobbie.. haaha..
wait a while..
colin's (my brother) confirmation party was yesterday, n its the first party we hv hosted at our place since.. erm.. since erm... mb it a christmas party? but it was definitely last millenium.. haha.. tt sounds so long ago doesnt it? haha...
n as usual, the younger cousins, yes me included, joined in a game of bridge. we hv definitely upgraded to bridge from toy cars n action figures, i think.. haha.. definitely.. then the two reli younger cousins, timothy n anthony, came in, n of course, they're too little to play bridge. so we changed to twenty-eight (tts smthg like indian bridge if u want to call it that). the younger ones cld play this game, so we played one round of it..
but of course it got boring after a while, so we played.... ERASER-BATTLES!!! woohooo!!! brings me back to St. Gabs where we used to play like everyday! Can u guys rmb eraser battles? u noe, the one with country erasers? shld revitalise the game in JCs... haha.. could last for some time.. hehe.. mb the m'sian scholars donno abt it? i doubt though.. haha.. i wanna bring my erasers to school! haha.. but no gambling. strictly.. haha...
will be quite loony to see a bunch of JC 2 students flicking erasers arnd to try to get ontop of the other.. haha.. loony.. think abt it.. haha..
and of course, due to my vast experience in the game, i emerged as champion! yeah-yeah.. who da man? haha... my Pakistan-eraser! haha...
p.s. eraser battles is the game where u flick erasers on top of each other to win. yes. THAT game..
okay. cheers~ n peace.
